FCPS
Hi there,
In this post I am going to describe little bit about FCPS,its syllabus and important topics from which questions are appearing almost every year.
FCPS is "Fellow of College of Pakistan and Surgeon Pakistan ".FCPS is the primary and premier fellowship program in Pakistan. It is conducted by CPSP( College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan). CPSP offers fellowship training in 64 specialities and sub specialities. The most recent ones being emergency medicine and clinical hematology.
This fellowship program starts with FCPS I and is followed by the fellowship training (residency) for total of 4 years in general medicine and general surgery and total of 5 years in their allied sub-speciality( 2 years in general medicine/general surgery + 3 years speciality) and finally FCPS part II.
This time duration between passing FCPS I and first appearance in the FCPS-II must no exceed 7 years for general medicine/general surgery and not more than 8 years in speciality. After this time period, the FCPS-I becomes nullified and void. One has to give FCPS-I again but is not required to do Training again.

PREFACE
Choosing a suitable and appropriate post-graduation course is a very difficult decision and most medical students of my age are confronted with the difficult task of deciding what to do after M.B.B.S
The fact that there are no locally available,up-to-date books responding to our needs, led me and my colleagues to create this blog. This blog will provide information to you about most,if not,all of the courses and options available to us after graduation and help you prepare for these post-grad courses
It is observed that the success rate in post-graduation exams is rather poor.It could be due to lack of understanding on part of the students. The major purpose of this blog is to give you enough information which will enable you to reach highest standards that you are capable of,without being handicapped by the ignorance of what you should do.
Best of luck for your future endeavours.
